As Saturday morning breaks over the Great Belt, the Vegvisir Race Nyborg 2025 fleet has begun to stretch out. The leading boats in the 184 NM course are now south of Samsø, making their way toward Røsnæs, while the backmarkers are still north of Sejrø. The race is very much on!
Current Leaders
In the singlehanded division, Gerda Ulrikka, a Norlin 411 skippered by Jens Listrup, is in front. In the Small doublehanded category, Franz Schollmayer and Falko Braun on the Corsa 30 "Firlefranz" are holding a strong lead. Overall front-runner is the German entry "Intoxicated" in the XL category – a boat that continues to impress.
The Green Course Starts Today
At 13:30, there will be a skipper’s briefing for participants in the 94 NM race – known as the longest upwind/downwind course in Denmark. The course sends sailors from Nyborg around Langeland and back again, combining tight island passages with open coastal racing.
First start is at 17:00 from the designated start area east of the harbor. And this time, Troels Lykke, renowned sailing journalist from minbaad.dk, will be on-site to call the starts and bring his signature enthusiasm to the event.
Good luck to all skippers starting today – fair winds and following seas!
