The first start, the 238 NM was in SE breeze. That gave the spectators on the piers in Nyborg a thrilling experience as the boats came in to pass the two Pantaenius Fly By marks. It was very tight as on of four Dehler 30 ODs got tangled with another boat in the eager to get as fast as possible round the marks before heading out to the demanding 238 NM. The boats went through Snekkeløbet at 21:30, at 02 Friday morning the cardinal buoy north of Orø was rounded and Friday morning the first boat RA a Seaon 9.6 rounded the rocky island Hallands Väderö on the Swedish west coast north of Kullen. There is quite a large gap from the leading boat the last boat in the fleet Teen Spirit a Dehler 42 that is 30 NM behind. A large group of boats are within 5 NM some 17 NM after the leading trimaran.
